Abstract

Out of 82 national CPI monitoring municipalities, in September 2019 there were 12 municipalities experiencing inflation and 70 other municipalities experiencing deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Meulaboh Municipality by 0.91 percent and the lowest occurred in Palopo Municipality by 0.01 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Sibolga Municipality by -1.94 percent and the lowest occurred in Surabaya Municipality by -0.02 percent.

Kalimantan Utara Province (Tarakan Municipality) in September 2019 deflation occurred by -0.57 percent with calendar year inflation rate of 0.05 percent and year-on-year inflation of 2.46 percent.
Deflation in Kalimantan Utara (Tarakan Municipality) was influenced by a decrease in the price of the foodstuffs group by -2.07 percent and the transportation and communication group by -0.47 percent. While the groups that experienced price increases were the health group by 0.16 percent, the clothing group by 0.15 percent, the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group by 0.10 percent, the housing group for water, electricity, gas, and fuel by 0.05 percent and the education, recreation and sports group by 0.00 percent.
