Abstract

Of the 82 cities monitoring national CPI, in September 2018, 16 cities experienced inflation and 66 other cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Bengkulu Municipality by 0.59 percent and the lowest occurred in Bungo Municipality by 0.01 percent. Whereas the highest deflation occurred in Pare-pare Municipality
1.59 percent and the lowest in the cities of Tegal, Singkawang, Samarinda and Ternate respectively by -0.01 percent.
Tarakan municipality in September 2018 occurred as much as deflation
0.73 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 2.53 percent and year-on-year inflation rate of 2.82 percent.
Deflation in Tarakan Municipality was influenced by a decrease in the price index in the foodstuffs group, which amounted to -3.25 percent. Meanwhile other groups showed an increase in index, namely in the education, recreation and sports group experienced inflation of 1.08 percent followed by transportation and communication groups which experienced inflation of 0.55 percent, health group by 0.24 percent, clothing group by 0, 10 percent and groups of housing, water, electrimunicipality, gas and fuel and processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco groups respectively by 0.02 percent.
