Abstract

Kalimantan Utara Province (Tarakan Municipality) in August 2019 deflation occurred -0.92 percent with a calendar-year inflation rate of 0.62 percent and year-on-year inflation of 2.30 percent.

Deflation in Kalimantan Utara (Tarakan Municipality) was influenced by a decrease in the price of the transportation and communication group by -4.88 percent and the foodstuffs group by -1.03 percent. While the groups that experienced price increases were the clothing group by 0.27 percent, the health group by 0.15 percent, the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.09 percent, the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group by 0.01 and the education, recreation and sports group by 0.00 percent.
