Abstract

Of 82 municipalities monitoring national CPI, in July 2019 there were 55 municipalities experiencing inflation and 27 other municipalities experiencing deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sibolga Municipality at 1.88 percent and the lowest occurred in Makassar Municipality by 0.01 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Tual Municipality at -1.55 percent and the lowest occurred in Gorontalo Municipality at -0.02 percent.

Kalimantan Utara Province (Tarakan Municipality) in July 2019 there was a deflation of -0.64 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 1.56 percent and year-on-year inflation of 3.89 percent.
Deflation in Kalimantan Utara (Tarakan Municipality) was influenced by a decrease in the prices of transportation and communication groups by -2.32 percent and the foodstuffs group by -2.03 percent. While the education, recreation and communication group experienced a price increase of 3.89 percent, the health group by 0.46 percent, the clothing group by 0.17 percent, processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.10 percent and housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.04 percent.
