Abstract

Of the 82 cities monitoring national CPI, in December 2018 as many as 80 cities experienced inflation and 2 other cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kupang Municipality at 2.09 percent and the lowest occurred in Banda Aceh Municipality by 0.02 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Sorong Municipality at -0.15 percent and the lowest in Kendari Municipality which was -0.09 percent.
Tarakan Municipality in December 2018 inflation was 1.60 percent with the calendar year inflation rate and the year-on-year inflation rate of 5.00 percent.
Inflation in Tarakan Municipality is influenced by an increase in the price index in the transportation and communication group by 7.69 percent and the foodstuffs group at 1.93 percent. Furthermore, the health group amounted to 0.81 percent, the processed food group, drinks, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.16 percent, and the housing, water, electriMunicipality, gas and fuel group by 0.07 percent. Meanwhile, the education, recreation and sports group, also the clothing group experienced deflation amunted to -0.02 percent and -0.07 percent respectively.
