Abstract

Of the 82 cities monitoring national CPI, in November 2018 as many as 70 cities experienced inflation and 12 other cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Merauke Municipality at 2.05 percent and the lowest occurred in Balikpapan Municipality by 0.01 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Medan at -0.64 percent and the lowest in Pematang Siantar Municipality and Pangkal Pinang, which was -0.01 percent.
Tarakan Municipality in November 2018 inflation was 0.76 percent with the calendar year inflation rate of 3.35 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate of 4.25 percent.
Inflation in Tarakan Municipality is influenced by an increase in the price index in the transportation and communication group by 1.80 percent and the foodstuffs group at 1.13 percent. Furthermore, the housing, water, electriMunicipality, gas and fuel group amounted to 0.61 percent, the health group by 0.43 percent, the clothing group by 0.38 percent, the processed food group, drinks, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.14 percent and the education, recreation and sports group experienced inflation of 0.08 percent.
