Abstract

Out of 82 national CPI monitoring municipalities, in October 2019 there were 43 municipalities experiencing inflation and 39 other municipalities experiencing deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Manado Municipality by 1.22 percent and the lowest occurred in Pematang Siantar, Tual and Ternate Municipality by 0.01 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Balikpapan Municipality by -0.69 percent and the lowest occurred in Palopo Municipality by -0.01 percent.

Kalimantan Utara Province (Tarakan Municipality) in October 2019 deflation occurred -0.30 percent with calendar year inflation rate of -0.25 percent and year-on-year inflation of 2.12 percent
Deflation in Kalimantan Utara (Tarakan Municipality) was influenced by a decrease in the price of foodstuffs by -1.47 percent. While the groups experiencing price increases were the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.22 percent, the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group by 0.07 percent, the health group by 0.07 percent, the clothing group by 0.04 percent, the education, recreation and sports group by 0.04 percent and the transportation and communication group by 0.01 percent.
