Abstract

In May 2019, total commodity exports through ports in Kaltara reached US $ 95.73 million, an increase of 24.21 percent compared to April 2019 which reached US $ 77.07 million. The export value for the period of January – May 2019 reached US $ 427.86 million or decreased by 3.66 percent compared to January – May in 2018.

The export increase in May 2019 compared to April 2019 was caused by an increase in exports of non-oil and gas goods in the industrial and mining products sector by 26.64 and 24.94 percent.
The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in May 2019 reached US $ 19.56 million or increased by 5,312.78 percent compared to April 2019 imports. When compared to the period January – May 2018, the import value of Kalimantan Utara Province from January to May 2019 decreased by 12.20 percent.
The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in May 2019 was dominated by non-oil and gas commodities reaching US $ 19.32 million.
The trade balance of Kalimantan Utara Province in May 2019 was a surplus of US $ 76.17 million, a decrease of 0.70 percent compared to the trade balance in April 2019 which was a surplus of US $ 76.71 million.
