Abstract

In September 2019, total commodity exports through ports in Kalimantan Utara Province reached US $ 91.20 million, a decrease of 10.67 percent compared to the conditions in August 2019 which reached US $ 102.09 million. The value of exports for the period January - September 2019 reached US $ 772.78 million, down by 4.48 percent compared to January - September in 2018.

The decline in exports in September 2019 compared to August 2019 was caused by the decline in exports of the non-oil and gas goods group in the mining products sector by 14.10 percent.
The value of imports of Kalimantan Utara Province in September 2019 reached US $ 1.93 million, an increase of 4.03 percent compared to imports in August 2019. When compared with the January-September 2018 period, the import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in the January-September 2019 period decreased by 29.76 percent.
The value of imports of Kalimantan Utara Province in September 2019 was dominated by non-oil and gas commodities, mainly the industrial products group.
The trade balance of Kalimantan Utara Province in September 2019 was a surplus of US $ 89.27 million, a decrease of 10.94 percent when compared to the trade balance in August 2019 which was a surplus of US $ 100.24 million.
