Abstract

In August 2019, total commodity exports through ports in Kalimantan Utara Province reached US $ 102.09 million, an increase of 9.16 percent compared to the conditions in July 2019 which reached US $ 93.52 million. The export value for the period of January – August 2019 reached US $ 681.58 million or decreased by 8.08 percent compared to January – August in 2018.

The increase in exports in August 2019 compared to July 2019 was caused by an increase in exports of the non-oil and gas goods group in the mining products sector by 15.70 percent.
The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in August 2019 reached US $ 1.85 million or decreased by 57.03 percent compared to imports in July 2019. When compared with the January – August 2018 period, the import value of North Kalimantan Province in the January – August 2019 period increased by 0.69 percent.
The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in August 2019 is dominated by non-oil commodity commodities, mainly industrial products.
The trade balance of Kalimantan Utara Province in August 2019 was a surplus of US $ 100.24 million, an increase of 12.36 percent when compared to the trade balance in July 2019 which was a surplus of US $ 89.21 million.
