Abstract

In March 2019, total commodity exports through ports in Kalimantan Utara reached US $ 79.59 million, a decrease of 4.68 percent compared to the conditions in February 2019 which reached US $ 83.50 million. The export value for the period of January – March 2019 reached US $ 255.07 million or an increase of 0.89 percent compared to January – March in 2018.

The decline in exports in March 2019 compared to February 2019 was caused by declining exports of non-oil and gas goods in the mining sector and industrial processing yields of 3.40 percent and 13.22 percent respectively.

The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in March 2019 reached US $ 7.68 million or increased by 28.59 percent compared to imports in February 2019. When compared with the period January – March 2018, the import value of Kalimantan Utara Province from January to March 2019 decreased by 47.70 percent.

The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in March 2019 was dominated by non-oil and gas commodities reaching US $ 7.68 million.

The trade balance of Kalimantan Utara Province in March 2019 was a surplus of US $ 71.91 million, a decrease of 7.82 percent compared to the trade balance in February 2019 which was a surplus of US $ 77.53 million.
