Abstract

In February 2020, total commodity exports through ports in Kalimantan Utara Province reached US $ 99.13 million, an increase of 15.93 percent compared to the conditions in January 2020 which reached US $ 85.51 million. The value of exports in the January – February 2020 period reached US $ 184.64 million, an increase of 5.22 percent compared to January – February in 2019.

The increase in exports in February 2020 compared to January 2020 was due to an increase in exports of non-oil and gas goods in the industrial sector by 111.23 percent and the mining sector by 8.62 percent.
The value of imports of Kalimantan Utara Province in February 2020 reached US $ 2.35 million or decreased by 71.08 percent compared to imports in January 2020. When compared to the January – February 2019 period, the import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in the January – February 2020 period increased by 62.56 percent.
The value of imports of Kalimantan Utara Province in February 2020 was dominated by non-oil and gas commodities, mainly the industrial products group.
The trade balance of Kalimantan Utara Province in February 2020 was a surplus of US $ 96.79 million, an increase of 25.05 percent when compared to the trade balance in January 2020 which was a surplus of US $ 77.40 million.
