Abstract

In December 2019, total commodity exports through ports in Kalimantan Utara Province reached US $ 99.94 million, an increase of 14.28 percent compared to the conditions in November 2019 which reached US $ 87.46 million. The value of exports for the period January – December 2019 reached US $ 1,050.10 million, down by 3.61 percent compared to January – December in 2018.

The increase in exports in December 2019 compared to November 2019 was caused by the increase in exports of the non-oil and gas goods group in the industrial products sector by 123.17 percent, the agricultural sector by 53.83 percent and the mining sector by 1.86 percent.
The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in December 2019 reached US $ 1.63 million or decreased by 60.43 percent compared to imports in November 2019. When compared with the January – December 2018 period, the import value of North Kalimantan Province in the January – December 2019 period decreased by 37.25 percent.
The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in December 2019 is dominated by non-oil commodity commodities, mainly industrial products.
The trade balance of Kalimantan Utara Province in December 2019 was a surplus of US $ 98.31 million, an increase of 17.98 percent when compared to the trade balance in November 2019 which was a surplus of US $ 83.33 million.
