Abstract

In June 2019, total commodity exports through ports in Kalimantan Utara reached US $ 57.65 million, a decrease of 40.05 percent compared to the condition in May 2019 which reached US $ 96.17 million. The export value for the period of January – June 2019 reached US $ 485.96 million or decreased by 9.60 percent compared to January – June in 2018.

The decline in exports in June 2019 compared to May 2019 was caused by declining exports of non-oil and gas goods in the industrial processing sector, mining products and agricultural products by 39.64 percent, 40.68 percent and 12.06 percent.
The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in June 2019 reached US $ 7.13 million or decreased by 63.58 percent compared to imports in May 2019. When compared to the period January – June 2018, the import value of Kalimantan Utara Province from January to June 2019 decreased by 3.31 percent.
The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in June 2019 was dominated by non-oil and gas commodities reaching US $ 6.61 million.
The trade balance of Kalimantan Utara Province in June 2019 was a surplus of US $ 50.53 million, a decrease of 34.03 percent compared to the trade balance in May 2019 which was a surplus of US $ 76.60 million.
