Abstract

In April 2019, total commodity exports through ports in Kalimantan Utara reached US $ 77.07 million, a decrease of 3.17 percent compared to March 2019 which reached US $ 79.59 million. The export value for the period of January – April 2019 reached US $ 332.14 million or decreased by 5.03 percent compared to January – April in 2018.
The decline in exports in April 2019 compared to March 2019 was caused by a decline in exports of non-oil and gas goods in the mining sector by 5.69 percent.
The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in April 2019 reached US $ 0.36 million or decreased by 95.30 percent compared to imports in March 2019. When compared with the period January – April 2018, the import value of Kalimantan Utara Province from January to April 2019 decreased by 52.59 percent.
The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in April 2019 was dominated by non-oil and gas commodities reaching US $ 0.36 million.
The trade balance of Kalimantan Utara Province in April 2019 was a surplus of US $ 73.02 million, a decrease of 4.77 percent compared to the trade balance in March 2019 which was a surplus of US $ 69.70 million.
