Abstract

The total labor force in Kalimantan Utara in August 2016 was 288,522 people, increasing by 5,420 from the labor force in August 2015.
The number of people working in Kalimantan Utara in August 2016 was 273,423 people, an increase of 6,400 compared to August 2015.
The number of unemployed in August 2016 was 15,099 people.
The open unemployment rate (TPT) in Kalimantan Utara in August 2016 reached 5.23 percent or as many as 15,099 people, decreasing by 0.45 points compared to the August 2010 TPT of 5.68 percent (16,079 people).
Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) in Kalimantan Utara in August 2016 amounted to 62.40 percent, decreasing by 1.05 points from the TPAK in August 2015 by 63.45 percent.
The highest education level of the population aged 15 years and over is 103.238 people (37.76 percent), and the highest level of unemployment education is high school (7.019 people) (46.49 percent).
The main occupations of the population aged 15 years and over who work dominated by the agricultural sector that has the largest proportion of 31.43 percent, and the lowest is the electricity, gas and drinking water sector by 0.98 percent.
The main occupational status of the population aged 15 years and over who worked was dominated by the status of workers / employees who have the largest proportion of 50.74 percent, and the lowest is the status of free workers 2.13 percent.
