Labor of Kalimantan Utara Province in August 2017

The total labor force in Kalimantan Utara in August 2017 reached 330,731 people, increasing by 42,209 from the labor force in August 2016 (288,522 people). The number of people working in Kalimantan Utara in August 2017 reached 312,416 people, increasing by 38,993 people compared to the situation in August 2016 (273,423 people).

The open unemployment rate (TPT) in Kalimantan Utara in August 2017 reached 5.54 percent or as many as 18,315 people, an increase compared to the August 2010 TPT of 5.23 percent (15,099 people).

In August 2017, the population generally worked on the agricultural sector by 26.70 percent, the next is the service sector by 26.24 percent and the trade sector by 21.31 percent. As of August 2017, 87,691 people (28.07 percent) worked with less than 35 hours per week working hours, while the working population with 35 hours or more working hours per week (including those not working) reached 224,725 people (71.93 percent).
