Abstract

  • The economy of North Kalimantan in the second quarter of 2024, measured based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices, reached IDR 36.28 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached IDR 18.04 trillion.
  • The economy of North Kalimantan in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the first quarter of 2024 experienced a growth of 2.29 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Government Administration, Defense, and Compulsory Social Security business sectors at 18.47 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Government Consumption Expenditure Component which experienced a growth of 45.75 percent.
  • The economy of North Kalimantan in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the second quarter of 2023 experienced a growth of 4.60 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Construction business sector at 11.57 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Consumption Component of Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households at 12.87 percent.
  • The economy of North Kalimantan in the first semester of 2024 compared to the first semester of 2023 experienced a growth of 4.69 percent (c-to-c). In terms of production, growth was driven by the growth of all business categories, where the highest was achieved by the Construction business sector at 11.32 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Consumption Component of Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households at 16.29 percent. Spatially, the economic structure of the Kalimantan Island region in the second quarter of 2024 was dominated by East Kalimantan Province at 47.77 percent and the smallest was North Kalimantan Province at 8.08 percent. In addition to having the largest role, the economic performance of East Kalimantan Province was recorded as having the highest growth of 5.85 percent (y-on-y).
