Abstract

Of the 90 cities monitored by the national CPI, August 2023. The highest year on year (yoy) inflation was Manokwari City at 6.40 percent, Merauke City at 5.91 percent and Timika City at 4.92 percent. While the cities with the lowest inflation were Jambi City at 1.92 percent, Bungo City at 1.93 percent and Gorontalo City at 2.02 percent.
  • The combined prices of goods/services for the City of Tarakan and Tanjung Selor City in August 2023 experienced Year on year (yoy) inflation of 3.29 percent with a monthly deflation (mtm) of -0.10 percent. Tanjung Selor City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 3.49 percent with monthly inflation (mtm) of 0.04 percent. Tarakan City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 3.24 percent with monthly deflation (mtm) of -0.13 percent.
  • The combined monthly deflation (mtm) for Tarakan City and Tanjung Selor City was influenced by the transportation group by -0.51 percent, the food, beverage and tobacco group by -0.19 percent, and the clothing and footwear group by -0.01. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced inflation was the personal care and other services group by 0.23 percent, the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.07 percent, the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group by 0.05 percent. , the health group by 0.02 percent, the food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.01 percent, the information, communication and financial services group by 0.00 percent, the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.00 percent and the education group by 0.00 percent.
