Abstract

  • Of the 90 cities monitored by the national CPI, in August 2022, 11 cities experienced inflation and 79 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was in Ambon City at 0.82 percent and the lowest inflation was in Bekasi City at 0.12 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation was in Tanjung Pandan City at -1.65 percent and the lowest deflation was in Depok and Kediri with a deflation of -0.01 percent.
  • The combined price of goods/services for the City of Tarakan and the City of Tanjung Selor in August 2022 experienced a deflation of -0.58 percent. Tarakan City experienced a deflation of -0.54 percent and Tanjung Selor City experienced a deflation of -0.71 percent.
  • The combined deflation of Tarakan City and Tanjung Selor City was influenced by the decline in prices in the food, beverage and tobacco group by -2.06 percent, clothing and footwear group by -0.04 percent, and personal care and other services group by -0.01 percent. Meanwhile, inflation was influenced by price increases in the housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups by 0.23 percent, transportation groups by 0.15 percent, recreation, sports and culture groups by 0.12 percent, equipment, equipment and routine maintenance groups. households by 0.06 percent, the health group by 0.02 percent, the food and beverage supply/restaurant group by 0.00 percent, the information, communication and financial services group by 0.00 percent and the education group by 0.00 percent.
