Abstract

Of the 90 cities monitored by the national CPI, May 2023. The highest year on year (yoy) inflation was Timika City at 6.04 percent, Kotabaru City at 6.04 percent and Kotamobagu City at 5.95 percent. Meanwhile, cities with the lowest inflation were Pangkalpinang City at 1.93 percent, Mamuju City at 2.27 percent, and Tanjung Pinang City at 2.30 percent.
  • The combined prices of goods/services for the City of Tarakan and Tanjung Selor City in May 2023 experienced Year on year (yoy) inflation of 3.07 percent with a monthly deflation (mtm) of -0.15 percent. Tanjung Selor City experienced Year on year (yoy) inflation of 4.51 percent with monthly inflation (mtm) of 0.03 percent. The city of Tarakan experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 2.71 percent with a monthly deflation (mtm) of -0.20 percent.
  • The combined annual inflation (yoy) for Tarakan City and Tanjung Selor City was influenced by the transportation group by 14.00 percent, the personal care and other services group by 5.32 percent, the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group by 2.56 percent, the provider group food and beverages/restaurants by 2.02 percent, the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 1.30 percent, the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.06 percent, the education group by 0.63 percent, the Health group by 0.59 percent, the clothing and footwear group by 0.58 percent, the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.26 percent and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.04 percent.
