Abstract

In March 2020, total commodity exports through ports in Kalimantan Utara Province reached US $ 104.84 million, an increase of 5.76 percent compared to the conditions in February 2020 which reached US $ 99.13 million. The export value for the January-March 2020 period reached US $ 289.48 million, an increase of 13.49 percent compared to January-March in 2019.

The increase in exports in March 2020 compared to February 2020 was due to an increase in exports of the non-oil and gas goods group in the mining sector by 14.86 percent.
The value of imports of Kalimantan Utara Province in March 2020 reached US $ 6.23 million or an increase of 165.38 percent compared with imports in February 2020. When compared to the January-March 2019 period, the import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in the January-March 2020 period increased by 18.19 percent.
The import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in March 2020 was dominated by non-oil and gas commodities, mainly the industrial products group.
The trade balance of Kalimantan Utara Province in March 2020 was a surplus of US $ 98.61 million, an increase of 1.89 percent when compared to the trade balance in February 2020 which was a surplus of US $ 96.79 million.
