Abstract

In January 2020, total commodity exports through ports in Kalimantan Utara Province reached US $ 85.51 million, a decrease of 14.44 percent compared to the conditions in December 2019 which reached US $ 99.94 million. The value of exports in the period of January 2020 reached US $ 85.51 million or decreased by 7.04 percent compared to January in 2019.

The decline in exports in January 2020 compared to December 2019 was caused by a decrease in exports of the non-oil and gas goods group in the industrial products sector by 56.67 percent and the mining sector by 5.86 percent.
The value of imports of Kalimantan Utara Province in January 2020 reached US $ 8.11 million, an increase of 396.46 percent compared to imports in December 2019. When compared to the January 2019 period, the import value of Kalimantan Utara Province in the period of January 2020 experienced an increase of 1,663.94 percent .
The value of imports in Kalimantan Utara Province in January 2020 was dominated by non-oil and gas commodities, mainly the industrial products group.
Kalimantan Utara Province's trade balance in January 2020 was a surplus of US $ 77.40 million, a decrease of 21.27 percent when compared to the trade balance in December 2019 which was a surplus of US $ 98.31 million.
