Abstract

    The star hotel and other accommodation room occupancy rates in Kalimantan Utara Province in May 2019 amounted to 24.41 percent or decreased 7.18 points compared to room occupancy rate in April 2019 which was recorded at 31.60 percent.
  • The star hotel occupancy rate in Tarakan Municipality in May 2019 was 31.45 percent, a decrease of 12.31 points compared to the hotel occupancy rate in April 2019 which was 43.76 percent.
  • Other accommodation hotels occupancy rates for Kalimantan Utara Province in May 2019 were 22.64 percent, a decrease of 5.97 points compared to the occupancy rate in April 2019 which was 28.61 percent.
  • The average length of foreign and domestic guests stays at star hotels and other accommodations in Kalimantan Utara Province in May 2019 for 1.25 days. The average length of stay of foreign guests is 1.00 days and the average length of time a domestic guest stays is 1.26 days.
  • The number of foreign tourist visits in May 2019 was recorded at 46,039 visits, a decrease of 382 visits compared to the previous month which reached 46,421 visits.
  • Cumulatively, the number of foreign tourists visiting Kalimantan Utara in the period January – May 2018 reached 155,039 visits, while during January – May 2019 it reached 239,204 visits.
  • Sea transport passengers departing in May 2019 were 54,356 people, up 114.92 percent compared to the previous month (April 2019) which recorded 25,291 people. The number of goods loaded in May 2019 decreased by 50.79 percent or decreased from 1,186,276 tons in April 2019 to 583,776 tons in May 2019.
  • The number of aircraft departing from the Airport in Kalimantan Utara in May 2019 recorded 660 flights, which decreased by 6.52 percent compared to the previous month (April 2019) which recorded as many as 706 flights. The number of passengers departing in May, which was 42,709 people, increased by 9.69 percent compared to April 2019 which recorded 38,936 people.
