Abstract

The North Kalimantan Gender Inequality Index (IKG) for 2022 is 0.444, down 0.028 points compared to 2021 which was 0.472.
  • This improvement is influenced by the equality of achievements in the dimensions of reproductive health, empowerment and the labor market.
  • The improvement in the reproductive health dimension was influenced by the improvement in the indicator of women giving birth not in health facilities which fell from 8.0 percent in 2021 to 5.6 percent in 2022.
  • The improvement in the dimension of empowerment was influenced by the improvement in the indicator that the percentage of women 25 years and over with senior high school education and above increased higher than that of men. The percentage of women will increase from 38.66 percent in 2021 to 41.48 percent, while the percentage of men will increase from 46.07 percent to 47.27 percent in 2022.
  • Improvements in the dimensions of the labor market are influenced by the labor force participation rates of both women and men. The TPAK for men will increase from 81.75 percent in 2021 to 83.67 percent in 2022, while the TPAK for women will increase from 48.44 percent in 2021 to 49.30 percent in 2022.
