Abstract

Out of 90 national CPI monitoring municipalities, in March 2020 there were 43 municipalities experiencing inflation and 47 other municipalities experiencing deflation. The highest inflation was in Lhokseumawe Municipality by 0.64 percent and the lowest inflation was in Surabaya Municipality by 0.01 percent. The highest deflation was in Timika by -1.91 percent and the lowest deflation was in Tangerang Municipality by -0.01 percent.

Kalimantan Utara Province (Combined Tarakan and Tanjung Selor Municipality) in March 2020 deflation occurred -0.46 percent. Meanwhile Tarakan municipality experienced a deflation of -0.46 percent and Tanjung Selor Municipality experienced a deflation of -0.45 percent.
Deflation in Kalimantan Utara Province (Combined Tarakan and Tanjung Selor Municiality) was influenced by a decrease in the price index of the transportation group by -2.80 percent, the food, beverage and tobacco group by -1.18 percent, the recreation, sports and culture group by -0, 33 percent, and the health group by -0.04 percent. While inflation in Kalimantan Utara Province (Combined Tarakan and Tanjung Selor Municipality) was influenced by an increase in the price index of the personal care group and other services by 1.80 percent, the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.48 percent, the equipment group household appliances and routine maintenance by 0.13 percent, clothing and footwear by 0.08 percent, food and beverage / restaurant supply groups by 0.06 percent and education by 0.00 percent.
