Abstract

  • Out of 90 national CPI monitoring municipalities, in February 2020 there were 73 municipalities experiencing inflation and 17 other municipalities experiencing deflation. The highest inflation was in Sintang by 1.21 percent and the lowest inflation was in Pare-Pare Municipality by 0.02 percent. The highest deflation was in Tanjung Pandan by -1.20 percent and the lowest deflation was in Padangsidimpuan by -0.01 percent.
  • Kalimantan Utara Province (Combined Tarakan Municipalitiy and Tanjung Selor Subdistrict) in February 2020 there was an inflation of 0.00 percent. Meanwhile Tarakan Municipality experienced deflation of -0.25 percent and Tanjung Selor Sub-district experienced inflation of 1.04 percent.
  • Inflation in Kalimantan Utara Province (Combined Tarakan Muncipality and Tanjung Selor Sub-District) was influenced by an increase in the price index of the health group by 1.33 percent, the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.14 percent, the personal care group and other services by 0.32 percent , housing, water, electricity and household fuel by 0.29 percent, the food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.13 percent, the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.12 percent, clothing and footwear group by 0 , 04 percent, the education group by 0.01 percent. While deflation was affected by a decrease in the price index of the transportation group by -3.77 percent, the information, communication and financial services group by -0.23 percent and the group of equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance by -0.05 percent.
