Abstract

The number of poor people in Kalimantan Utara in September 2019 was 48.61 thousand (6.49 percent). In March 2019 the poor population totaled 48.78 thousand (6.63 percent), meaning the number of poor people decreased by 0.2 thousand people or decreased by 0.14 percent.

During March 2019 – September 2019, the poverty line rose by 2.52 percent, from Rp. 651,416 per capita per month in March 2019 to Rp. 667,883 per capita per month in September 2019.
In the period March 2019 – September 2019, the Poverty Depth Index (P1) decreased, from 1,157 in the conditions of March 2019 to 1.122 in September 2019. Likewise, the Poverty Severity Index (P2) decreased from 0.309 to 0.269.
In September 2019, the level of inequality of population expenditure as measured by the Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.292. This figure is down by 0.003 points when compared to the March 2019 Gini Ratio of 0.295.
In September 2019, the distribution of expenditure in the lowest 40 percent population was 22.22 percent. This means that population expenditure is still in the category of low inequality.
