Abstract

The number of poor people in Kalimantan Utara in March 2018 was 50.35 thousand (7.09 percent). In September 2017 the poor numbered 48.56 thousand (6.96 percent), meaning the number of poor people increased by 1.8 thousand people or increased by 1.83 percent.
During September 2017 - March 2018, the poverty line (GK) rose by 1.34 percent, from Rp. 578,305, - per capita per month in September 2017 to Rp. 586,049, - per capita per month in March 2018.
In the period of September 2017 - March 2018, the Poverty Depth Index (P1) decreased from 1,323 in September 2017 to 1,095 in March 2018. Similarly, Poverty Severity Index (P2) decreased from 0.312 to 0.265.
In March 2018, the level of population inequality as measured by Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.303. This figure is decreased by 0.010 points when compared with Gini Ratio September 2017 which is 0.313.
In March 2018, the distribution of expenditure of the lowest 40 percent population group was 21.63 percent. This means that population expenditure is still in the category of low level of inequality.
