Abstract

The Economy of Kalimantan Utara Province in First Quarter 2018 measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) at current prices reached Rp 20.74 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached Rp 14.04 trillion.
The economy of Kalimantan Utara First Quarter of 2018 grew by 5.56 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year (First Quarter of 2017) (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Accommodation and Drinking Storage Industry which grew by 16.00 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure aspect, Government Spending Consumption component grew the highest at 14.19 percent.
The economy of Kalimantan Utara in the first quarter of 2018 contracted by 0.23 percent (q-to-q), slower than the previous quarter which grew by 2.60 percent. This is due to several business fields experiencing contraction in the first quarter of this year as the business field of Government Administration, Defense and Social Security Mandatory; field of Mining and Quarrying business; business field of Processing Industry; as well as Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery field. In terms of component spending that contributes to the contraction of Kalimantan Utara's economy is the component of Government Consumption Expenditure.
