Economic Growth of Kalimantan Utara Province in Second Quarter 2017

The economy of Kalimantan Utara in Quarter II-2017 measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) at current prices reached Rp 19.03 trillion and GRDP at constant 2010 prices reached Rp 13.45 trillion.

The economy of Kalimantan Utara in Quarter II-2017 grew by 6.44 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year (Quarter II-2016) (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Field of Transport and Warehousing Enterprises with a growth of 11.50 percent. In terms of expenditure, almost all of its components also experienced growth, with the components of Foreign Import experiencing the highest growth. The Components of Government Consumption Expenditures and Inventory Changes are the components that experienced contraction in this quarter.

When compared to the previous quarter, the economic performance of Kalimantan Utara in quarter II-2017 grew by 1.14 percent (q-to-q). The highest growth by business field in q-to-q was achieved by the Government Administration Business Field, Defense and Social Security which grew by 5.72 percent. From expenditure side influenced by component of Government Consumption Expenditure experienced significant growth equal to 68,09 percent.

Cumulatively, the economic growth of Kalimantan Utara in the first semester of 2017 (first and second quarters of 2017) compared to the first semester of 2016 (Quarter I and II-2016) grew by 6.32 percent (c-to-c).
