Abstract

The economy of the Province of Kalimantan Utara in Quarter II-2016 measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached Rp 16.12 trillion and GRDP at constant 2010 prices reached Rp 12.47 trillion.

Economic Performance of North Kalimantan Province in Quarter II-2016 as measured by GDP growth in the second quarter of 2016 compared to the first quarter of 2016 grew by 0.88 percent (q-to-q). When compared to the same quarter of 2015 also experienced growth, which amounted to 2.26 percent (y-on-y). Cumulatively, the economic growth of North Kalimantan from the first quarter to the second quarter of 2016 compared to the same period in 2015 experienced growth of 1.99 percent (c-to-c).

Economic Growth in Quarter II-2016 on a y-on-y basis in terms of production is influenced by performance growth in most of the business fields showing a positive trend. Only two business fields experienced a decrease in the Mining Business Field and Excavation which corrected as negative as 6.23 percent and the Company Service was negative 5.88 percent. While the expenditure side is influenced by the growth of foreign exports and government consumption expenditures, each having significant growth of 22.98 percent and 22.53 percent respectively.
