Abstract

In Kalimantan Utara Province, the number of non-agricultural enterprises registered by the Economic Census of 2016 (SE2016) reached 54 thousand businesses, an increase of 64 percent compared to the number of businesses in the Economic Census in 2006 of 33 thousand.
Of the 54 thousand businesses SE2016 results in Kaltara, recorded as many as 17 thousand businesses that occupy a special building for business premises. Thus, as many as 37 thousand businesses do not occupy a special building business, such as traveling traders, businesses in residential homes, business pavement, and so forth.
Viewed by district / city, Tarakan city is the district / city with the most number of business that is 15 thousand. However, in terms of growth, Tana Tidung Regency has the highest business growth that is four times the previous number, while Kota Tarakan is the district with the lowest growth of 40 percent.
