Abstract

The number of labor force in Kalimantan Utara in February 2015 reached 287 thousand people, consisting of 270 thousand workers and 17 thousand unemployed people with Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) reaching 5.79 percent.

    In February 2015, the population generally worked on the agricultural sector by 38.74 percent, the next is the service sector by 20.52 percent and the trade sector by 15.03 percent.

    Based on the number of working hours in February 2015, 63,000 people (23.17 percent) worked with less than 35 hours per week working hours, while the population worked with 35 hours working hours over 35 hours per week (including those not working) of 207 thousand people (76.83 percent).

    In February 2015, the population working with elementary education level reached 119 thousand people or 43.97 percent, the next working population with high school / vocational education as many as 76 thousand people (28.18 percent), the next working population with 46 junior high school education thousand people (16.96 percent), while the population worked with higher education (Diploma or more) as many as 29 thousand people (10.89 percent).

    In February 2015, TPT for elementary and lower education was 5.21 percent; TPT for Junior High School (SMP and SMK) education was 5.80 percent; TPT for Higher Education (Diploma and above) was 8.02 percent.
